RowFind privacy policy

Last updated: 27 October 2026.

RowFind is made by Nikhil Annur. Contact: [email protected].

Your files stay on your phone

RowFind reads the Excel, CSV or OpenDocument files you choose, on your phone. Your files, their names and their contents are never uploaded, sold or shared. They are saved on your phone so the app works offline. You can remove a file from the app at any time. The file in Excel itself is never changed.

Camera

If you tap Scan, RowFind uses the camera to read a barcode or QR code and puts the code in the search box. The pictures are read on your phone only: they are never saved, uploaded or shared. The app asks before using the camera, and you can say no; everything else still works.

Favourites, recent searches and Share

Favourites and your last searches are kept on your phone, with each file, and never sent. Share on an item opens your phone's share menu with that one item's details; RowFind does not see where you send it.

What the test version sends

The test version talks to one RowFind server for these things only:

Your internet address

To stop abuse (for example someone trying many test codes), the server counts requests per internet address. The address is not stored as is: only a scrambled form of it (a hash made with a secret, which changes every hour). These counts are deleted after at most 2 days.

Nothing is sent to advertisers or analytics companies. The app has no ads.

How long we keep it

Children

RowFind is a work tool for adults. It is not meant for children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be at the same address, with a new date.
